MCW Testimonial
“I do this community work because I love to help people. It’s a passion I already had. But MCW Global gave me the resources to go out and do it. They taught me how to do it. If it wasn’t for MCW Global, none of this would be possible.” - Young Leaders Fellowship Alum Thandi Bonno
The Soundboard Impact Foundation and MCW Global don’t simply work together -- they have been mutually formed by a deeply-rooted partnership and shared vision for the leaders of tomorrow. For more than 25 years, MCW Global has been transforming the lives of young leaders and their communities around the globe. Many non-profits may vaguely claim to be “grassroots” or “sustainable,” but MCW Global makes good on these ideals. Their long-standing Young Leaders Fellowship has directly trained over 150 young leaders who’ve founded community projects that then reach hundreds more. MCW Global’s model -- equipping those who are at the tipping point of leadership -- is tested, honed, and powerfully aligned with the Soundboard Impact Foundation’s priorities and values.
Partnering with MCW Global means partnering with their leadership luminaries, Khalid Elaichi (Executive Director) and Regina Leichner (Director of Impact and Strategy). Both Khalid and Regina have invested their careers at MCW Global, learning the organizational leadership skills that they now train in others. Under their deft guidance, MCW Global has strategically iterated on their Young Leaders Fellowship, building it from a brief business seminar to a year-long mentorship and training program. In this program, a carefully-selected cohort of young leaders follow set modules covering everything from self-awareness to organizational management. They develop a step-by-step plan for actualizing their vision for community change, all the while tapping into an engaged alumni network for support and encouragement.
SBIF supporters have the opportunity to financially contribute to this impactful leadership program -- but that’s really only the beginning. SBIF founder Richard offers the perfect example of how financial partnership can turn into a deep collaboration. Richard regularly teaches one of the modules of the Young Leaders programs and has become a valued mentor to many program alumni, including Thandi, the one quoted above. SBIF partners with MCW Global because they don’t just take checks; they welcome and honor all the resources -- open hearts, listening ears, and well-earned wisdom -- that their supporters bring.
Ask Khalid and Regina, and they’ll tell you that, at MCW Global, leadership isn’t just a title. Leadership is when you take action on behalf of the community that you want to be a part of. Leadership is about being humble, honest, and able to listen to others. If you want to be a part of creating more of these types of leaders, learn more about MCW Global and SBIF here.
